The game is divided into two parts. There is the single player mode where you must compete against a computer generated character (I assume this is the same character from the original Air Force) and there is the multi-player mode where you can play against another human or dog or another computer generated character. If you are playing on the single player side of the game you will be flying an F-14, which is one of the more popular fighter planes used by the Air Force. The other planes available for play include the B-1, the C-2 and the Y's.
Once you pick your plane you will then have to pick your weapon. There are a total of five weapons to choose from, each with its own purpose and use. They are missiles, bombs, rockets and guns. Each of these items are obtainable and can be fired at other aircraft or ground targets. The primary goal of the game is for you to destroy all the enemy aircraft and to survive until the last aircraft is destroyed.
Your mission is to defend your base until the last aircraft is destroyed. You do this by defending the base with your cannons and air defense systems. Of course you will also have to protect yourself from any enemy aircraft that may decide to attack your base.
Air Force 1 has many options and features. This game is not just for those who are in the Air Force. It is a big time shoot 'em up that will also keep you occupied for many hours. If you have never played this type of game before, you are in for a real treat. You will find yourself quickly becoming addicted. It is one of those games where the harder you try, the better the results.
